Summer 2024 Junior Theatre Camps
Description
Students will adventure throughout DJT, as we bring the theatrical arts to life for kids of all ages. Students explore in an array of special workshops (which may include Broadway, Improv, Props Design, and more!) and collaborate on the creation of their very own script to perform! Our theme is new every time so kids can take camp again and again.
Students are to bring a sack lunch and water bottle. Snack break provided.
Parent or Guardian must fill out Camp Waiver on morning of first day.
Camp ends with a performance for family and friends on Friday at 4:00pm or 5:15pm.
Students, staff, and parents are welcome to wear masks but are not required.
Camp Price:
$210 Davenport Resident
$230 Non-Davenport Resident
$30 Add on Fee for early drop off (7:45-8:40am) and late pickup (3:40-5:15pm)
*DJT is a proud program of Davenport Parks & Recreation. As taxpayers who offset the cost of our department, Davenport citizens receive a 20% discount (up to a $20 cap) per directive of City Council.
Junior Theatre Camp I:
Monday, June 10 - Friday, June 14

Join us for a spellbinding adventure where imagination takes center stage! Campers will hone their theatrical skills while experiencing the wonder of bringing magic to life on the stage. Guest artist, magician David Casas, will join us day one to put on a magic show for the kids and lead workshops.

Monday, June 24 - Friday, June 28

Uncover the storytelling power of drawings, paintings, and sculptures as we spend the first day of camp at the Figge Art Museum, then let the artistry inspire a story of your very own! Each group will have their play inspired from a piece of art at the Figge Art Museum.

Ahoy young actors! Dive into the world of pirates, mermaids, sea monsters, and more as you go on your own theatrical voyage.

Explore the dynamic world of comic books and unleash your inner hero through drama games, improv challenges, and creative workshops! Guest artist, author and illustrator Jason Platt, will join us day one to lead workshops on storytelling through illustrations.
