Alex Overturf, Instructor

Alex was born and raised right here in the Quad Cities. He attended Assumption High School, where he was an active member of the drama and music programs. After graduating from high school, Alex went on to attend the University of Northern Iowa. Initially, Alex was unsure of what he wanted to study, but his activity in the theatre department during his first semester made him decide that he wanted to pursue a degree in theatre.

Throughout his time in college, Alex took part in many productions. He performed in shows like Cinderella and You Can’t Take it With You. He worked backstage and on lights for others, he even wrote and directed his own 10-minute play. During college, Alex also discovered a love for children’s theatre. After graduating in 2022 with a degree in Theatre Performance and Drama and Theatre for Youth & Community, Alex spent his summer as a touring theatre teaching artist with Footliters Traveling Playhouse.

Outside of the theatre, Alex enjoys playing video games, writing stories, and spending time with his family.
