Courtney Strouse, Instructor
Courtney Strouse is a dance artist and freelance yoga instructor. She received her B.A. in Dance Studies with an emphasis on Modern Dance technique and Dance Education from the University of South Florida in Tampa. She traveled to Paris and Marseille France with USF’s Dance in Paris Program in 2009 presenting solo choreography as well as training in the modern dance technique of various esteemed artists. A lover of all things movement based, Courtney believes that our most intuitive and expressive gifts can be liberated through our movement. She has taught dance at Brevard Community College in Melbourne, Florida, and SKIESUnlimited Military Family Programs of both Fort Hood and Fort Bliss. She has had the pleasure of choreographing dance for theatre at Vive Les Arts Theatre in Killeen, Texas, for musicals such as Hairspray and 9 to 5. Her most recent endeavor was getting back onstage and dancing alongside Melange Dance Company of New Orleans in their work Journey of Dreamers last fall.
She loves Steeler football, drinking coffee and spending her lack of free time with her two spunky little ladies Lana and Ruby, her Army Soldier husband, and her spoiled rotten doggy Gracie. She is so excited to be part of Davenport Junior Theatre and to share her love for dance!
