Ballet I-IV

This class introduces the formal study of ballet technique. Dancers will be introduced to the discipline of dance while having fun learning combinations to music. Class will begin with stretching in the center or at the barre. Dancers will begin to strengthen muscles in the legs and feet needed to safely execute steps, through exercises. Dancers work on jumps, turns, proper turnout and posture, and combinations across the floor.

Tiny Tappers

Our youngest dancers have fun making noise with their shoes! Students will learn basic tap steps in the center and across the floor. This class develops rhythm, coordination, and class etiquette while dancing to upbeat music.

Beginning Tap/Jazz

Students will learn the fundamentals of tap and jazz dance styles. Dancers will work on coordination and rhythm along with proper execution of basic technique. Tap will provide students with practice in leg and foot coordination, timing, and rhythm. With skills derived from ballet technique, Jazz will work on isolations, stretching, and basic steps such as pas de bourres and pivot turns.

Tap/Jazz I-III

Students looking to continue their tap and jazz technique will learn new and more complex steps and combinations in both styles. Time steps and turning steps will be introduced in tap. Jazz will include practice in pirouettes, leaps, and more complex combinations. Class will begin with proper stretching and warm ups for each style. Students work on their memorization skills by learning short routines. This class will perform in both styles for presentations and recital.

Beginning Poms

This fun and high energy class will introduce dancers to proper jazz technique and include dynamic movements highlighted by pom poms! This will introduce basic arm positions that can be used in combinations to create sharp visual effects in routines. Each class will begin with a warm up and stretching to improve flexibility. Dancers will also work on their splits, basic turns, leaps, and more.

Lyrical

A combination of ballet, jazz, and modern dance with emphasis on fluidity and grace, lyrical focuses on the feeling behind the music and expressing emotions through movement. Dancers learn to express themselves as artists while dancing to stories revealed in the lyrics of contemporary music. Previous dance experience is recommended.

Intermediate Hip Hop

This class is for dancers who have mastered the basic hip hop skills and are ready for more advanced technique. Dancers will work on tricks, timing, and performance. Class will warm up with isolations of the body and stretching, and work on combinations in the center and across the floor. Dancers will learn more complex routines for presentations and recital.

Floor gymnastics for the beginning tumbler; all classes use floor mats with no use of trampolines or bars. Tumblers will learn basic skills such as cartwheels, handstands, back bends, and more. Class begins with stretching to improve flexibility and warm ups before working on tumbling skills. Classes will perform on stage tumble passes for presentations and recital.

Intermediate & Advanced Tumble

This class is for students who have mastered the basics of tumbling and are ready for more complex skills and combinations. Tumblers will continue to improve tumbling basics as they are the foundation for intermediate and advanced skills. Class will begin with a warm up and stretch session. Tumblers will begin to work on tumbling routines that will be performed at presentations and recital.
